Certified Translation
Do I need my translation Certified?
The answer depends on the requirements of the receiving office you are submitting the translation to.
Make sure you understand the specific requirements of the receiving office, in regard to submitting translations.
Generally, if you are submitting the translation for any official use purposes, we recommend having your translation certified.
Most governing bodies require a certified translation of official documents, which includes a Certificate of Accurate Translation.
Certified Translation authenticates a qualified, vetted, and knowledgeable translator worked on your documents.
Can I review the translation before certification?
Yes. The Project Manager will send you an email after our Quality Assurance step of the translation process.
This gives you the opportunity to give us any feedback on the translation, before we certify and deliver your translation bundle.
We will wait for your reply email with your approval / feedback for up to 2 business days, before certifying and delivering.
Do I need my certified translation notarized?
The answer depends on the requirements of the receiving office you are submitting the translation to. Make sure you understand the specific requirements of the receiving office, in regard to submitting translations.
Some offices, like USCIS, accept certified translations with a digitally signed certificate, in which case, you would not need notarization.
If the receiving office requires a certified and notarized translation, you can select that option on the translation order page.
We notarize translations on Wednesdays and Fridays every week – except for holidays and other scheduled closings.
After your translation is approved, it will be notarized on the following Wednesday/Friday – whichever comes first.
Will USCIS accept my translated document(s)?
All certified translations produced by TLC are accepted by U.S. federal or state agencies, including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services – USCIS.
